Description
CONDTIONS OF ENTRY:
- Each dog requires 1 entry to be purchased. This will be donated to Lincoln Guide Dogs.
- Accompanying dog handlers must also have purchased a valid entry to the event.
- Dog handlers are responsible for picking up any ‘mess’ that their dog makes. Bring a supply of doggy’ poo bags’ with you on the day.
- No santa suit or medal provided for your dog but please dress your dog festively !
SAFETY:
- Dogs must be kept on a short lead at all times. Long leads, bungee leads and recoil leads are not permitted.
- No more that TWO DOGS per handler taking part permitted.
- Dogs are NOT PERMITTED inside the grounds of Lincoln Castle (unless they are guide or assistance dogs as described under the Equality Act 2010 at the discretion of Lincoln Castle staff).
- Banned dogs (as defined under the Dangerous Dogs Act 2023) even with a Certificate of Exemption are not permitted in the event.
- We have a maximum limit of 100 dogs allowed in the event
WELFARE:
- Dogs are entered into the event at owner’s risk. Your dog should be comfortable in busy crowds.
- Take extra care in the Start area and if you have a small dog.
- Dogs (and their handlers) should join the start in Castle Hill Square at the back for safety reasons.
- Lincoln Guide Dogs will kindly be providing a Dog Station in Castle Square. Here you can pick up some “poo bags” if you forgot to bring any, check out the advice for dogs taking part, get a drink of water for your dog and maybe a doggy treat, meet one of their amazing guide dogs and of course find out more about this wonderful charity and its great work.
