Car Parks
The following is a guide only. Please check the City Council website for more details particularly if you have special requirements eg oversized vehicle, disabled parking, EV charging Remember road closures will be in effect from 10:30 am sharp which will prevent access to the uphill car parks (ie The Lawn, Westgate, Castle Hill) and many car parks will fill up before then. You will not be able to exit these (uphill) car parks until it is safe to open the roads again by 1.00 pm. Please take extra care as the area and the car parks will be very busy with pedestrians, santas and others. We recommend you plan to arrive early.

If you park in The Lawn you will be able to walk through the Castle grounds to the Start area, unless you have a dog with you. Access to the Castle Hill car park will be difficult and there are ony a small number of places, we would advise accessing it before 9:30 am if you wish to use this car park.
On street parking – will be very limited
Parking restrictions will be in place along the route and will be enforced by local traffic wardens
Please be considerate of local residents and businesses in the area.
Bus Services
Although the normal park & Ride service does not operate on a Sunday the no 12 bus still stops at on Nettleham Road by Waitrose Car Park (Searby Rd off Nettleham Rd). The times are less frequent. During the period of road closures (10:00 to 13:00) the stop at Eastgate (by Lincoln Hotel) will be replaced with a stop at Winnowsty Lane at the top of Lindum Hill which will be nearest for the event. See timetable here.
Special Parking – arrangements (accessible only with a voucher from the event organisers) will be in place for the following
- Bailgate Methodist Church car park (for congregation)
- Event support vans (Edward King House car park)
